Lea en español: Juan Soto, José Ramirez - Nueve razones para sonreír: peloteros dominicanos brillan en los All-MLB Teams 2025

On MLB Awards night 2025 in Las Vegas, the league confirmed what Dominicans already know: baseball speaks with Dominican flavor by announcing the Major League Baseball First and Second teams. Nine Dominican players stood out on the All-MLB Teams: Julio Rodríguez, Juan Soto, José Ramírez, Ketel Marte, Jhoan Duran and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on the First Team; Junior Caminero, Freddy Peralta and Cristopher Sánchez on the Second Team.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Heir and Already a Legend

At 26, Vladdy earned his third All-MLB First Team after a season of .292/.381/.467, a 14-year, $500 million contract, his fifth All-Star selection, and ALCS MVP honors. He’s no longer “the son of”—he’s simply Vladimir Guerrero Jr., a face of modern baseball.

Ketel Marte: Elite Consistency

Despite injuries, Marte delivered 28 home runs (leading NL second basemen), his third straight 25+ HR season, and a second consecutive All-MLB First Team. The heart of Arizona’s offense, he is a fully established star.

José Ramírez: The Historic All-Terrain Threat

J-Ram posted his second straight 30–30–30 season (homers, steals, doubles), set a career high with 44 stolen bases, led Cleveland to a second straight division title, and became an MVP finalist for the fourth time. Pure power, speed, and leadership.

Julio Rodríguez: Seattle Has a Dominican Face

With 32 homers, 30 steals, and a 6.8 bWAR (career best), Julio cemented his status as one of MLB’s most electrifying outfielders. For a franchise waiting since 2001, the Dominican star represents a new winning era.

Jhoan Durán: “Durantula” made his presence in Philly

Durán once again demonstrated why he is one of the best closers in the game right now by setting personal marks in 2025 between Minnesota and Philadelphia. He posted personal best in Saves (32), Innings pitched (70) and WAR (3.2).

Juan Soto: The King of Queens

In his Mets debut: 43 home runs (career high), 38 steals (tied for the league lead), a .396 OBP (best in the NL), and 127 walks (led MLB). Every Soto at-bat is a master class in zone control.

Junior Caminero: The New Generation

At just 22, Caminero launched 45 home runs in his first full season—one shy of the Rays’ record. The future of Dominican power has arrived.

Freddy Peralta: The New Generation

He was another Dominican pitcher that had an excellent season, he was the National League leader with seventeen wins. He had and ERA of 2.70 on top of having more than two hundred strike outs for the third straight year consecutively, ending with a total of 204. Peralta was a key reason as to the Brewers finishing in first place in the division. Freddy had a magiacal season establishing new personal marks in wins (17), ERA (2.70), innings pitched (176.2) and games (33).

Cristopher Sánchez: The Steady Lefty

A key piece of Philadelphia’s elite rotation alongside Zack Wheeler, Sánchez and Wheeler combined for 350+ innings and a 2.58 collective ERA, showing maturity and command in pressure spots.

One Country, Seven Stars

These honors are no accident—they are the result of decades of baseball on neighborhood sandlots, winter leagues, and Dominican academies. From the barefoot kid in Santo Domingo to the fan waking up early to watch their heroes, this list reflects a whole nation. As long as there is baseball, the Dominican flag will fly among the game’s brightest stars.
