Lea en español: Juan Soto ganador del Premio Juan Marichal por segunda vez consecutiva
Nearly a month after the nominees were announced in a press release we published here, the 2025 Juan Marichal Award winner was revealed on October 20. On the 88th birthday of the Dominican Republic’s first Hall of Famer—the legend whose name the award bears—Juan Soto was selected as the Dominican player with the best MLB season in 2025. With this honor, Soto becomes the first two-time winner, and he does it in back-to-back years.
The finalists for this fifth edition included Júnior Caminero (Tampa Bay Rays), Freddy Peralta (Milwaukee Brewers), José Ramírez (Cleveland Guardians), and Juan Soto (New York Mets). Dominican players delivered a tremendous 2025, routinely ranking among the top ten across major categories. Past winners include Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (2021), Sandy Alcántara (2022), and Marcell Ozuna (2023)—with Soto taking the honor last season as well.
