Lea en español: Dominicanos de poder: Juan Soto, José Ramírez, Ketel Marte, Manny Machado y Geraldo Perdomo brillan con el Silver Slugger 2025
Five Dominican bats took home 2025 Silver Slugger Award: Juan Soto (Mets), José Ramírez (Guardians), Ketel Marte (D-backs), Manny Machado (Padres), and Geraldo Perdomo (D-backs). The Yankees were named American League Offensive Team of the Year, while the Dodgers repeated the honor in the National League.
The Dominican Honorees
Juan Soto, OF, Mets (6th Silver Slugger)
At 26, Soto captured his sixth consecutive Silver Slugger—a feat at his age shared only by Mike Trout and Alex Rodríguez. He slashed .263/.396/.525 with 43 home runs, led MLB with 127 walks, and topped the NL in OBP and stolen bases with a career-best 38 steals. He also became the first Met with a 30–30 season since Francisco Lindor.
José Ramírez, 3B, Guardians (6th Silver Slugger)
J-Ram posted another 30–30 year—30 HR, 44 SB—joining Wade Boggs (8) and Mike Schmidt (6) as the only third basemen with six or more Silver Sluggers. He remains Cleveland’s steady engine and a point of pride for Dominican fans, underscored in ESENDOM’s series on the Top 20 Dominican players by WAR.
Ketel Marte, 2B, D-backs (2nd straight)
Marte repeated as the NL’s top-hitting second baseman with a .283 average, .893 OPS, and 28 homers—10 more than any other NL second baseman. His OPS was nearly 100 points better than the runner-up. He’s the first Diamondback with back-to-back Silver Sluggers since Paul Goldschmidt (2017–18).
Manny Machado, 3B, Padres (3rd Silver Slugger)
The third baseman of Dominican heritage secured his second in a row (third of his career), reaffirming premium status at the hot corner.
Geraldo Perdomo, SS, D-backs (1st Silver Slugger)
Perdomo delivered a breakout: .290/.389/.462, 20 HR, 100 RBI, 27 SB—the only NL shortstop to reach both power benchmarks. He’s the first shortstop in D-backs history with a 100-RBI season and the first at the position to win the award for the franchise.

Yankees and Dodgers in the spotlight
New York Yankees
Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. took home Silver Slugger Awards, and the club earned AL Offensive Team of the Year after leading the league in home runs (274), slugging, and OPS. Judge mashed 53 HR with a .331 average and 1.144 OPS.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Shohei Ohtani captured his fourth consecutive Silver Slugger, and the Dodgers repeated as NL Offensive Team of the Year, pacing the league in runs scored and overall firepower.
Arizona Diamondbacks: Dominican duo in silver
Arizona made history with three Silver Sluggers in a single season—the franchise’s first time accomplishing the feat. Carroll (31 HR, 17 triples), Marte, and Perdomo form the offensive core, positioning the D-backs as a 2026 contender.
The ESENDOM Take
In a season where power was spread across both leagues, Dominican presence on the hitting throne remains undeniable. Soto walks among the greats, Ramírez upholds excellence at third, and the Marte–Perdomo pairing signals Arizona’s rise with a Quisqueyano flavor. Machado reasserts his competitive pedigree. A year to celebrate—and to inspire the next wave dreaming of that silver bat.
