Pedro Martínez dominated baseball at the height of the Steroid Era like few pitchers before or since. The Manoguayabo native finished his MLB career with a 219–100 record, 2.93 ERA, 3,154 strikeouts and 83.9 WAR while winning three Cy Young Awards and the 2004 World Series with Boston. From throwing oranges as a child in the Dominican Republic to entering Cooperstown on the first ballot, Pedro became the gold standard for Dominican pitching.
