Community Leaders Address COVID-19 Rate in Washington Heights & New Testing Site Opens

NEW YORK, NY - Representative Adriano Espaillat, Dr. Karen Thornton, Council Member Ydanis Rodríguez, Assembly Member Carmen de la Rosa, and Assembly Member Al Taylor  in collaboration with medical professionals and faith leaders, will hold a press conference today at 11:00 a.m. to address the ongoing impact of COVID-19 to the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods in the district. The press conference will be held at the new testing clinic launched this week at Holyrood Church/ Iglesia Santa Cruz located at 715 West 179 Street in Washington Heights. 

Residents may receive COVID-19 antibody testing (blood test) and COVID-19 nasal swab (PCR) testing at the new testing facility. Medical services will be provided by the office of Dr. Karen Thornton, MD PC. Individuals should bring their health insurance cards as well as identification for those who may be uninsured.

This event is open press. Testing is free.
