New York City Pride March 2017
The first New York City Pride March took place on Sunday, June 28, 1970. The NYC Pride March was founded as a civil rights demonstration to celebrate LGBTQIA and civil rights. Pride serves as a platform for demonstration and remembrance for people who have lost their lives to illness and violence. Pride is rooted in the Stonewall riots of 1969.
